Age Limit: 15 Years to 24 Years as on 01/01/2015. Age Relaxation - 05 Years for SC / ST, 03 Years for OBC, 10 Years for Physically Handicapped Candidates.

Educational Qualification: 10th Class Pass in 10+2 Examination system recognized by Board i.e. CONSE / India or any other recognized Board with minimum 50% Marks (excluding additional subjects) and ITI Certificate in the relevant trade affiliated to NCVT compulsory in relevant trade.

Selection Process:

(a) Engagement of Act. Apprentices will be done only on the basis of marks obtained in the Matriculation Examination or 10th Class in the 10*2 Examination system and minimum marks of eligibility shall be kept at 50% in aggregate (excluding additional subject) and having ITI certificate in the relevant trade is compulsory. No extra weightage shall be granted to candidates having higher qualification. Candidates equal to 1.25 times of the number of slots for Act. Apprentices shall be called for verification of original testimonials.
(b) A final merit list will be prepared equal to the number of slots in the descending order of percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the Matriculation / 10th Class in 10+2 examination system duly verified/scrutinized of all original certificates submitted by the candidates.
(c) Candidates finally enlisted would be engaged subject lo being found fit in appropriate Medical examination by Railways as applicable for the Workshop and for the other Units.
(d) No daily allowance / conveyance allowance or travelling allowance will be paid to the candidate who will be called for verification.
(e) No hostel accommodation will be provided and selected candidates will have to make their own arrangement during their training as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and they will be released on completion of the training.

Application Fee: An account payee Bank Draft on any Nationalized Bank or Postal Order drawn in favour of FA & CAO, South Eastern Railway/Garden Reach, payable at Kolkata amounting to Rs. 100/- as a processing fee which is not refundable / transferable under any circumstances should be enclosed along with the Application Form. NNo fee for SC/ST/PH/Ex-servicemen, Women, Minorities & Economically Backward classes (less than Rs. 50,000/- per annum), Minorities will mean Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis).

How To Apply: The Application Form & Call Letter as per given formal should be neatly typed or filled up in all respect in own handwriting with ball point pen either in English or Hindi by the candidate on A-4 size paper with one passport size photograph (without colour glasses or sunglasses), duly signed on the top by the candidate and attested by the Gazetted Officer of Central or State Govt, and bearing office seal, should be submitted along with the application. Copies of all certificates viz. proof of date of birth, educational / technical qualification certificate, Marksheet of Matriculation, Caste certificate, PH certificate, Ex-Servicemen certificate, OBC certificate. Creamy Layer certificate duly self-attested and also by a Gazetted Officer of Central or State Govt and bearing office seal, should be submitted along with (the application.
